Pearl Grass Recovery - Part 2

It has been a month since I last wrote an article on pearl grass recovery. So, here's the second part – the progress of recovery.

I've applied organic fertilizer to the patch. It's just lovely that it rain frequently in those period for I don't have to water the patch.

The result is very much encouraging. The grass start seeding, new leave blades sprouting, and stolons creeping to fill the area.

The pearl grass is on a patch of clay type of soil. The soil hardened when there is no watering or rain. It's almost impossible to pierce aeration hole of more than a 1/4 inch when it's dry. But, when the soil is wet either by watering or rain, it's easy to pierce aeration holes to a depth of 6 inches.

The patch receives 8 hours of sunlight between 7.00 am trough 3.00 pm. It's sufficient for the pearl grass to utilized the applied nutrients for the rapid growth and recovery.

Thus, it is indeed very easy to maintain a pearl grass lawn once its established. It doesn't need frequent cutting other than to promote growth. It is hardy that thrives under heat mix and never or seldom need watering. It surely is an eco-freindly type of grass that stays green all year round.
